15 Minutes with Notion: Outlining a 5-Minute Presentation

In class, we were assigned to groups and tasked with using the AI tool Notion to help create a presentation for another AI tool, Pictory. My group consisted of Hirwa, Bryce, Sean, and Michael. We used Notion to take notes collaboratively on a shared document and utilized its AI feature to expand our ideas.

I had never used Notion before, so there was a learning curve in figuring out how to navigate its features. Another challenge was that our presentation process was remote; the team wasn’t physically together and couldn’t discuss ideas out loud. However, we all shared the same Notion page, allowing us to collaborate in real-time through edits and communicate via Zoom breakout rooms.

We divided the presentation into major topics and assigned individual research tasks. Since Pictory is an AI tool that converts text into videos, I decided to use one of my earlier blog posts about Morse code and the digital revolution to create a video with Pictory. Unfortunately, the video took too long to load, making it impractical for our class.

Despite this setback, Notion AI proved invaluable for real-time collaboration. This experience highlighted Notion’s steep learning curve and demonstrated how AI tools like Notion can enhance presentations and group work.
